Thank you to the League of Women Voters of Saratoga County for the opportunity to answer some questions in writing - especially the question highlighting the important role Supervisors have on the County Board of Supervisors. Complete information about this race can be found here, and all race and candidate info can be found at Vote411.org.

Q: What are the most critical issues facing Saratoga County today and in the near future? Please explain your answer.

My Response: Protecting our economy, maintaining sufficient infrastructure, and ensuring safe communities all while keeping taxes low is a priority. But many families are struggling as costs continue to rise. Their priorities are having enough to eat, a roof over their heads, and the ability to afford child and health care. NYS' economy is going to be further harmed by federal action in 2027, which will cause tough decisions about how to use available resources. These times call for a county government that values people over wealth, prioritizes essential human services, and adequately supports the staff who provide those services. What we have now is leadership that celebrates the lowest per capita spending rate among NYS counties. We can do better.

Q: What is the most critical issues facing your Town? Please explain your answer.

My Response: Residents enjoy a good quality of life in Milton, appreciating our amenities, reasonable taxes, and the history and character of our town. But residents do not feel heard and respected, impacting our sense of community. They are also concerned that the extent of development is threatening the quality of life they value. Milton needs to address its communication with residents, improve responsiveness to resident concerns, and address impacts on traffic and the ability of community services (such as EMS) to keep up with extensive development that has taken place. I will create opportunities for residents to contribute and be involved. Neighbor to neighbor, we can build a connected Milton.

Note: My opponent did not respond to these questions, despite saying he would be glad to do so in lieu of participating in a streamed and recorded candidate forum.
